Epic Change’s CEO and co-founder Stacey Monk spoke at the Nonprofit 2.0 Unconference in June about the importance of nonprofits looking beyond simply raising money with social media. Monk, having just captivated the event’s opening session with an emotional talk about the life-changing circumstances that lead her to abandon a corporate career and start a nonprofit, said generating love does a greater good for nonprofits in the long run than if they focus too much on raising money.
