[INFOGRAPHIC] Millennials are Not Whiny, Over-sharing Aliens from Saturn

A Platform for Good‘s mission is to highlight how technology can enhance our lives, and the opportunities it affords us to create social change. They pay particular attention to how Millennials are using technology for good.

Unfortunately, most of what we read about are headlines about out-of-control cyber-bullying, 20-somethings posting regrettable photos on Instagram, and parents shooting up their daughter’s laptop.

You’d think we’ve been invaded by an alien species from Saturn. But this is not true. 🙂

They recently published this awesome infographic that shows how Millennials are making positive impact in the world, via social media and mobile devices.

Some highlights include:

  • 80% of teens say they have defended victims of online harassment
  • 73% of Millennials volunteered for a nonprofit in 2012
  • 84% of Millennials who donated to an organization in 2012 gave or wanted to give online

The Infograph also includes three examples, including a cat that has raised over $60,000 for animal charities.
