How Sharing Happened Around the World in 2014 [Infographic]

After the Michael Brown and Eric Garner decisions, people all over world used social media to speak out and organize protests.

The Ukraine and Gaza conflicts caused a similar spike in social media use, with 23,000 shares and 84,000 shares, respectively.

Mobile Sharing Growth and Shrinkage

According to a study by AddThis, Pinterest sharing grew 24% on mobile in 2014. Twitter and Facebook, on the other hand shrunk by 14%.

Does this mean that people are leaving Facebook and Twitter? Definitely not. But what this does speak to is the increase sharing of visual content on mobile.

Smaller screens means pictures get much more attention over words. Sharing on mobile overall increased in 2014, with Android taking the lead at 61%.
